“300 Writing Prompts,” Episode I

I recently purchased this neat little journal at my local Barnes and Noble:

It was love at first sight. As an aspiring writer/blogger/something-er, the thought of a journal with prompts on every page lit my creative fire ablaze. I thought it might be fun to share some of the exact prompts and my impromptu responses in a little series. Here’s “Episode I” (Star Wars is still on the brain, I’ll admit).

Prompt: What is your favorite way to spend a lazy day?

Waking up to a warm, sweet cup of coffee is the ideal start to any morning. Feeling the divine nectar of all good starts slide down my throat warms my very being; on lazy mornings, I spend a little more time savoring this particular moment.

I love cleaning up just a bit–my space, my body, my face, my thoughts. After I get slightly organized and fully prepared to take in all that is lazy, I settle into a television marathon of some sort. Leslie Knope becomes my friend for the day, entertaining me with her antics and quips. Lorelei and Rory fill my heart with the warm fuzzies; I grew up with the din of Stars Hollow filling my living room, so I love them and welcome their company.

I finish the day with a great meal, usually at local a Mexican restaurant, where I order the perfect cheese quesadillas and dip the slices in sour cream and rice. Don’t knock it till you try it.

The End.

The first of many cheesy, dripping-with-sentimentality Episodes of “300 Writing Prompts.” Thanks for tuning in!
